Challenge of Tarrant County--2026 World Cup Wellness Campaign

"Play It Safe!" and "Naloxone Saves!"

More than 4 million visitors are expected to travel to the Dallas–Fort Worth area for world-class soccer events, creating an incredible

opportunity to showcase the energy, diversity, and hospitality of our community. As fans come together to celebrate, we also have a shared responsibility to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Play It Safe is a community campaign that encourages smart, responsible decision-making before, during, and after the match. The campaign promotes key harm reduction strategies, including:

  • Safe and responsible substance use practices
  • Planning for a safe ride home
  • Protecting yourself and others from extreme heat
  • Learning how to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, including overdoses

A key part of this effort is Naloxone Saves, an initiative that provides education and practical resources to help people respond to an opioid or fentanyl overdose. The campaign also distributes Naloxone First Aid Kits equipped with naloxone, basic first aid supplies, cooling towels, and other essential safety items that can make a difference during an emergency.

Together, we can create an environment where the excitement of the game is matched by a commitment to looking out for one another. One Community. One Goal. Safe Celebrations.
